On This Day

February 9, 1964 a musical group from Liverpool, England was introduced to the US on the Ed Sullivan show.


I watched that show at my grandfather's house.  He had cable TV, and my Dad wouldn't install it at our house.

Their influence on music is still being felt today.

    Had a co-worker, once, who thought the Beatles were the be-all-and-end-all. I loved to tweak her, because I always thought the Beatles were the most overrated rock band in history. I much preferred the Rolling Stones, Steppenwolf, Credence Clearwater Revival, and similar groups, to the Beatles.
