Not much information coming out of the CFDA Fastest Gun Alive competition in Fallon, NV this weekend. Everyone is busy, I guess, competing, not taking pics of standings or rankings. Still, it's frustrating to sit here, not knowing how my friends are doing. **Sigh**
But, they handed out category awards last night, and two shooters that are beloved of the Big Thicket Bushwackers did very well.
That's our very own Gentleman George and Texas Rose, of the Big Thicket Bushwackers out of Silsbee, TX. George took 1st place in Men's Super Senior and Texas Rose (Kay), took first place in Ladies Traditional. Very nice trophies, they appear to be prospecting pans, turned into trophies.
It's said that the Cowboy Fast Draw Association is the only group where folks will enthusiastically load up the car with $5,000 worth of guns and equipment to drive across the country to win a pan or a piece of wood or leather. I guess that there is some truth to that.
We're proud of George and Kay, and looking forward to seeing them when they get back.
