The American Council of Trustees and Alumni said their survey uncovered a “crisis in American civic education.”It gets better:
Yes, friends – our best and brightest seem to think that Judge Judy sits on the highest court in the land.
Parents your child’s B.A. may in fact be a bunch of B.S.They didn't need a survey to tell me that. I've been working in the schools for over a decade and I'm consistently amazed at the lack of common knowledge exhibited by supposedly educated people. Once you get outside their area of expertise, they're lost.
Their findings reveal “that recent college graduates are alarmingly ignorant of America’s history and heritage.”
That could explain why an avowed socialist like Bernie Sanders is giving Hillary Clinton a run for her money.I'm dumbfounded that anyone would vote for Hillary Clinton. She's under FBI investigation, and with the drip, drip, drip of the revelations about her email problems, she'll be lucky to avoid prison. A vote for Hillary is a vote for lawless corruption.
I'm just saying.
It was David Burge at Iowahawkblog that said:
ReplyDeleteCampuses today are a theatrical mashup of 1984 and The Lord of the Flies performed by people who don't understand the references.
It is tragic and it is by design. My own daughter graduated with a BS in '94. It was bad then, imagine the horror of seeing everything she had been taught not just questioned but derogatorily dismissed. The results of such indoc were staggering. This is not an isolated case.
ReplyDeleteImagine how worse it is now. I converse with folks all across the country for business and pleasure. The many misspellings and lack of following the basic rules of grammar even in business correspondence are appalling. And to hear people speak is as if they use some form of ghetto lingo. What is most incredulous is they seem utterly unaware. Yet try to debate any subject and they quickly adopt a harsh adversarial tone then act as if they come from a position of superior knowledge of the subject. Notice that I use the term, 'they'. Surely it is that by their plentiful disregard of civilty as manifested in their every behavior that I have o recourse but to draw the division between the learned civilized people and those others.
But I am tenacious and wont to give in. My latest undertaking is to be a provide an avenue to true learning of civil discourse then of American history. As I've only just embarked on this calling I have yet to realize the success I envision. Time shall tell. Perhaps I remain unaware of the enormity of the task yet I fully comprehend the stakes of a wilfully ignorant public and what it means to a civilization.
Go bless you. Do not falter, remain steadfast. This culture requires true leaders.
That's what happens when the educational system is co-opted by the left... sigh
