I am reminded that it's Flag Day, the day set aside to commemorate the adoption of the US Flag.
Today is also the celebrated birthday of the US Army. It is altogether fitting and proper that we fly the flag on days such as this.
Mine is raised. Is yours?
I have to admit that I don't own a flag. I'll have to take care of that before July 4th.
ReplyDeleteI fly the Flag 24-7-365 and keep spares for when one wears out. I've done this since my first child was born. Dunno why, but it's a well ingrained habit now. I even keep a flag in my camping gear to fly after I've set up camp.
ReplyDeleteWhen Teh Lightbringer was sworn in, I flew it upside down for a week.
I also fly the Norwegian Flag on May 17, their Constitution Day in honor or my ancestry. I fly it one day only. I will be flying the Icelandic Flag on 17 June, their National Day, in honor of my wife's ancestry.
A "friend" gave me a UN flag which I propmply wadded up and stuffed in the garbage.
