Cholesterol

I went for my yearly checkup last week and the Doc wanted some blood, so I went in this morning and let his lovely assistant stick needles in my arm. The results came in and I learn today that my cholesterol is out of whack. I need diet and exercise and to take some medicine. The nurse was quite emphatic that I repair to the pharmacy, get the drugs and take a dose before bedtime tonight.

So, on the advice of my doctor and Milady, I hied myself down to the pharmacy and got my prescribed dosages. On the way back home, I decided to celebrate and stopped by the local barbeque place. Picked up a couple of rib plates for our supper.

Those ribs ought to give that cholesterol medicine something to work on while I sleep.

  1. Paw- a recommendation- Take the meds at night and with or shortly after food... Otherwise you'll be needed a new stomach too.

  2. If the doc prescribed a Statin, be alert for changes in your immune system.

Statins are very dangerous drugs with a high degree of dangerous side effects. Their positive results are minimal at best. The internet is your friend, investigate this stuff thoroughly before accept taking it.

  4. Re: James Nelson. So Pawpaw would be better off with no statins and high cholesterol? Not. My cholesterol runs 400 without statins & <200 with statins. The alternative is an early grave. My biggest side effect is gas, lots of gas...

  6. The cholesterol numbers are only a loose reference, anyway. For example, if you are of Cherokee blood, you can easily handle a total cholesterol of over 400.
