Truth!

That's what Pravda means. And from the news service of the same name we learn of the larger problem of our climate trends. Glaciation.
The earth is now on the brink of entering another Ice Age, according to a large and compelling body of evidence from within the field of climate science. Many sources of data which provide our knowledge base of long-term climate change indicate that the warm, twelve thousand year-long Holocene period will rather soon be coming to an end, and then the earth will return to Ice Age conditions for the next 100,000 years.
The hell you say.

I put about as much stock in worrying about glaciation as I put in worrying about man-made global warming. Climate comes and goes and it's a mistake to try to equate climate with weather. It's okay for campfire discussion, but conterproductive to worry about such things. The earth will be here spinning along when mankind is long gone. That's the nature of nature.

At any rate, I think it's cool that the definitive commie rag is poking holes in Gore's theories. Locally, I note that we're supposed to get a killing frost tonight, with temps way below normal. Not a record, but certainly way below normal.

Just to let you know, someone in Kalifornia agrees with you... most of the time!

    Pravda!
    That's good.

Many years back certain people out on the fringe were enthusiastic telling me about Russians attempting to manipulate weather patterns with gigantic magnetic grids (or something along that line) from secret locations in Siberia.

All told, is not necessarily completely false...

The russians do have a significant problem, being situated a bit higher in lattitude, and the jetstream seems to curve beneficial weather away from where they might like to have it.

Point being, Russians have been studyng weather patterns quite seriously for any number of years.
If they declare a position in conflict with that fellow who just won himself a medal, they might have something worth talking about.

As I said, I agree with you most of the time. Not much I can do about it. Can't give up my truck for a bicycle so he can fly his jet to be awarded a metal.

    And "Isvestia" means "truth".
One was the morning paper in the USSR and the other was the evening paper.
The Russians (perhaps economic ignoramuses (Ignorami?) but not otherwise fools) said, "there is no Pravda in Isvestia and no Isvestia in Pravda", or There is no truth in the news and no news in the truth."
Somehow this HAS to work for global warming and leftist papers, but I just can't do it myself.
