Of course I had twenty year old eyes then. Alas, marriage and the necessity of making a house payment necessitated "rehoming" the little Mauser. It is a .308 rifle. I was going to take my M-14, but I underestimated the expense of putting a mount and scope on it, and didn't have the necessary thousand bucks for the job.<BR/><BR/>I use Nikon Pro Staff scopes with bullet-drop compensators. They are a good quality scope at a medium price.<BR/><BR/>I am handloading now for the shindig, and my load for the .243 is Hornady 87-gr SPBTs over 46gr of 4831.
