I remember cutting the barrel from 29 1/4" to 22" then paying $15.00 for a gunsmith to crown the barrel bend the bolt handle procure and install a Williams 5D receiver sight for a total expenditure of $34.95. A new M94 Winchester carbine cost $93.50 at the time. That old Arg. Mauser accounted for a lot of venison before I traded it off. The 7.65x53mm cartridge was (is) almost identical to .308 Winchester, if a little harder to come by. It was what started me handloading. <br /><br />Gerry N.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
