Also, there isn't an appeal to a ultimate authority beyond the men that are in power at that point in time.<br /><br />The French Revolution provides a case in point example of having man as the ultimate authority, defining and adjudicating rights. Because the men in power defined the 'rights', there wasn't any absolute right that someone could point to, and say, "I'm claiming this."
