Hot

We are in the mid-August heat wave.  It hasn't rained in a couple of weeks and the sun is a constant tormentor. The grass is "crunchy", dry and coarse.  In short, it is hot. Humidity is only at 36%, but the heat feels like a blanket.

There is a chance of a passing thunderstorm tonight, but it is well under 50%.  Any rain would help but I'm not holding out for a deluge.

  1. 108 up here today, 15% humidity, and yes, the only thing alive is the weeds... sigh

  2. It's blistering hot in east Texas. Wildfire weather. I decided to do some fireproofing around the homestead. I tried to till a firebreak but the ground is so dry and hard it kept knocking the PTO out of engagement. I bet the shift sleeve has worn dogs... I'll try again tomorrow with the rippers on the box blade. I HATE watering grass. Not mowing is a nice thing but not burning the place down in a grass fire is nicer i reckon...
