The Narrative, Again

President Obama, true to form, is running the narrative once again.
Just as he did after the Orlando shooting, the president of the United States spent more time blaming guns for the mass shooting against law enforcement Thursday night than the people who pulled the triggers or the hatred that motivated them.
Speaking from Poland, where he’s attending the NATO summit, Obama used the shooting death of five law enforcement officers and the injury of six more as a pretext for another call for more gun control.
“When people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately it makes attacks like these more deadly and tragic,” Obama said. “In the days ahead we’re going to have to consider those realities.”
**Sigh**  Reports that I've read indicate that the sonofabitch in Dallas used an SKS.  I have limited experience with that rifle, but I know that it's not especially powerful, using the ubiquitous 7.62x39 cartridge.  The rifle itself uses a fixed, 10-round magazine.  It's a fairly basic weapon, and not particularly accurate, although it was certainly suitable for the purpose. On a power scale of standard sporting cartridges, it would fall in the mid-range, and is generally compared to the old standard .30-30 Winchester.

I have several rifles in my battery that are much more powerful, more accurate, and better suited to launching a sniper attack.  As time goes on, more information will come out, and I'll be interested to see his hit ratio.  From what I've read so far, it wasn't a terribly sophisticated attack, although it was terrible in lots of ways.

I suppose we should expect the President to characterize the firearm in such a way.  He obviously has no experience with firearms and is speaking to a basically ignorant base.  He's such a lightweight, and so utterly predictable that Jon Gabriel has provided this Media Narrative Chart.

Yep, it fits an easily predictable narrative.

This chart is amazing (and surprisingly accurate).
