Gas prices have doubled since Mr. Obama took office. According to the GasBuddy gasoline price tracking web site, the price of a gallon of regular gas was around $1.79 when Mr. Obama took office. Today the national average is $3.58. The lowest average price in the continental United States is $3.31 in Tulsa Oklahoma, the highest is $4.14 in Santa Barbara, CA.Really? Doubled? That didn't sound quite right, so I checked with the Department of Energy and found this chart.
Sure enough, in January 2009, gas prices were running about $1.80 nationwide. Yesterday I paid $3.45.9. Of course, when I started driving, gas prices were 29 cents a gallon and we raised holy hell when, during the Carter years, gas prices shot up to 35 cents a gallon.
Really! The price of a gallon of gasoline has doubled under the Obama administration. That's change you can believe in!
