The Fair Share

I agree with the President that all Americans need to pay their fair share when it comes to income taxes. Even the 47% of Americans who pay no taxes.
The bottom 40 percent, on average, make a profit from the federal income tax, meaning they get more money in tax credits than they would otherwise owe in taxes. For those people, the government sends them a payment.

"We have 50 percent of people who are getting something for nothing," said Curtis Dubay, senior tax policy analyst at the Heritage Foundation.
The bottom earners on the tax rolls often get back more than was withheld, due to very generous tax credits and deductions that simply don't make sense. I agree, Mr. President, lets make all Americans pay their fair share. The fact that you're only targeting the most wealthy Americans is pure unrelenting class warfare.

One thing that irks me is that politicians(from both sides of the aisle) and the media don't tell the whole truth of an issue. While it is correct that approx. 47% of Americans don't pay any federal income tax, they still pay FICA, property taxes, sales tax, etc.

I don't have a problem with low income earners getting back all the federal income taxes they paid in for the year, but I have a real issue with refunding them back MORE than they paid in. It's nothing more than another entitlement payment, and is greatly abused.
