Democrats own the downgrade. They fought Republicans and Tea Party supporters every step of they way, and forced a deal which was insufficient. They played class warfare and race politics against arguments that we needed to drastically change our spending habits.Yep, this is another historic moment for the Obama presidency. It seem that this is the first time that the credit rating of the United States has been downgraded since Moody's started giving credit ratings in 1917. Truly an historic moment.

Now, does the GOP have anyone bright enough to wage a publicity campaign to get that thought, "Democrats own the downgrade", over to even the dimmest bulb of a voter?
There used to be some smart wordsmiths on the right, but of late, I haven't heard much hammering coming from that smithy.
