This is one of those cases where we believe it is our role to voice our concern that Texas could face a shortage of generation necessary to keep the lights on in Texas within a few years, if the EPA’s Cross-State Rule is implemented as written. It seems that the EPA wants to rewrite emissions regulations for coal-fired plants and want the new regs to take effect next year.
Yeah, that's a great idea in the midst of a recession. Let's make electricity more expensive. While we're at it, lets float the idea of a fleet of electric cars, with electric charging stations dotting the nation. Great idea!
I've got a better idea. Let's abolish the EPA, shut it down, brick it up. I haven't seen that they've done anything but hamper, restrict and regulate, so we don't need them in a free America. Net savings? $8.6 billion next year. That's a drop in the bucket, but every little bit helps. I blame this on our President too.
