More on Gunwalker

Dave Hardy reports at Of Arms and the Law, about the latest in the Gunwalker scandal. From the information that Senators Grassley and Issa have received, it appears that this scandal goes all the way to our Attorney General, who at this point is at least an indictable felon.
This is the hottest political story since Watergate ... and of course (with a few exceptions) the MSM is ignoring it. The government itself sets up operations that run thousands of guns to drug cartels, gets two Federal agents and hundreds of Mexican nationals killed, then the coverup goes right up to the Deputy AG (which means it goes at least to the AG: his deputy wouldn't want to be accused of going behind his back), an agency head goes defector. And the MSM is in "move on folks, nothing to see here" mode.
The Mainsteam Media should be covering this with the same fervor that they're covering the budget talks. That they're not is to their eternal shame. There are calls for an Independent Prosecutor, but that office was abolished under President Clinton in 1999 following his impeachment hearings.

This scandal is huge, and no one but the right-wing blogosphere and two beleagured Senators seem to care.

**UPDATE** Digging around later I found this in the Reporter News out of Abilene, TX:
U.S. policy insanity is already severely criticized in Mexican civic society. Some Mexican senators have called for the extradition of responsible agents to answer for arms trafficking.
Wouldn't it be interesting to see Eric Holder in a Mexican prison? I believe that we have extradition treaties with Mexico.
