Racism

Did y'all see this?
In what could be a repeat of the easy-lending cycle that led to the housing crisis, the Justice Department has asked several banks to relax their mortgage underwriting standards and approve loans for minorities with poor credit as part of a new crackdown on alleged discrimination, according to court documents reviewed by IBD.
That's right. Eric Holder wants banks to make loans to minorities who don't have income and won't be able to pay their mortgages. Does this sound familiar? You bet it does. The biggest cause of the current recession was the housing bubble. It seems that the gummint forced banks to lend money to people who couldn't pay it back and when those loans went toxic, the banks started collapsing. That led to the recession that we're trying to crawl out of, and Eric Holder wants banks to make loans to people who can't pay them back.
Settlements include setting aside prime-rate mortgages for low-income blacks and Hispanics with blemished credit and even counting "public assistance" as valid income in mortgage applications.
Blacks and Hispanics? That's racist! Is Eric Holder a racist? Damned right he is, everything he does is about race. Remember the dudes threatening people at the polling places? Eric Holder dropped that case. Black folks depriving white folks of their civil rights isn't a problem for Eric Holder. He's a racist and a socialist, and his boss appointed him to the office of Attorney General. That's a fact.

Yep, the truth is coming out... sigh.

The truth? The truth is the man committed no crime. It isn't illegal to be black and ugly and carry a stick. Local, state and national prosecuters--including the Bush administration--pulled out the stops to find something with which to charge the man. None of them wanted to spend millions on a trial which would end in a not guilty verdict. At the scene of the "crime" the cops arrived, asked the two men to leave, and they did--quitely.

Oh, well, by that logic, it's okay for me to be white and ugly and carry a stick. I guess I should show up in front of a polling place and tell black voters that "you're about to be ruled by a white man." I'm sure that would be perfectly okay.

As I read the reporting on the case, the DOJ had won the case and was about to be awarded a default when Holder ordered the case dropped.

If you read spin, what you get is spin. Every prosecutor with even a hint of jurisdiction in that case spent much time and money trying to figure out what they could charge the man with--nothing. Right wing lawyers, judges and DAs all over the USA have done the same. Many of them want to make a name for themselves and charge him anyway. None of them want to spend their own money charging and bringing him to trial. But if we happen to get a T-party president in 2012, the man is going to be arrested and charged. The result will = not guilty and the expenditure of many millions of tax dollars in the ensuing media circus. Yes, you can be white and ugly and carry a stick and stand outside a polling place and say whatever you want. And if the cops come and ask you to leave and you quietly do so, you've committed no crime. During the November 2012 election, I'm positive we'll see neo-Nazi types doing exactly that. If they leave when asked, they've done no wrong. If they argue, they will be arrested. And then the right-wing spin doctors will have a field day claiming a black man got away with it, and a white man didn't. It's coming to a nearby polling place in November 2012.

Carrying a stick while being black(or any other color) down Main Street isn't a problem. Standing outside a polling place with a stick and threatening ANYONE is a problem. I heartily invite someone to try that shit outside Philadelphia Baptist Church this October. I'm generally CCWing when I go to vote, and I usually carry an ASP as a non-lethal alternative.
Let's play.......
