Prices double

Really? They've doubled? According to the Washington Times.
Gas prices have doubled since Mr. Obama took office. According to the GasBuddy gasoline price tracking web site, the price of a gallon of regular gas was around $1.79 when Mr. Obama took office. Today the national average is $3.58. The lowest average price in the continental United States is $3.31 in Tulsa Oklahoma, the highest is $4.14 in Santa Barbara, CA.
Really? Doubled? That didn't sound quite right, so I checked with the Department of Energy and found this chart.

Sure enough, in January 2009, gas prices were running about $1.80 nationwide. Yesterday I paid $3.45.9. Of course, when I started driving, gas prices were 29 cents a gallon and we raised holy hell when, during the Carter years, gas prices shot up to 35 cents a gallon.

Really! The price of a gallon of gasoline has doubled under the Obama administration. That's change you can believe in!

Look at the beginning of that chart - $3.70 gallon in 2008. The $1.85 in 2009 is due to the collapse of the US economy under Bush. The $3.58 today is *LOWER* than what it was under the Bush administration.

And gas prices were lower in 2009 because of the economic downturn worldwide, hurting oil-demand. In many ways, low gas prices are actually a sign of a weak economy. The rising prices under the Obama administration are a sign of recovery.
And if you want to talk about change, perhaps consider the fact that the last of American troops are finally out of Iraq, a country Bush invaded on the false pretense of finding WMDs. Consider the death of Osama Bin Laden and the subsequent disbandment of Al Queda after their headquarters were busted. And among other things, consider the fact that change is impossible with an impassible partisan Congress blocking every move you make.
