(b) TAXABLE MEDICAL DEVICE.—For purposes of this section— (1) IN GENERAL.—The term "taxable medical device" means any device (as defined in section 201(h) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act) intended for humans. (2) EXEMPTIONS.—Such term shall not include— (A) eyeglasses, (B) contact lenses, (C) hearing aids, and (D) any other medical device determined by the Secretary to be of a type which is generally purchased by the general public at retail for individual use.Gee, I use a CPAP maching to help control my sleep apnea. It requires supplies, like filters and hoses and head-pieces. While I've got good insurance, I generally don't claim supplies against my policy because the supplies are generally inexpensive and not worth the trouble of filing the insurance. It looks like my CPAP treatment just got more expensive.
Thanks, Mr. President. That's change I can believe in!

From what I've read, sanitary napkins and tampons will be taxed. A Ko-Tax, if you will.
I, too use a CPAP. Looks like I'll be rat-holing some masks, hoses filters and the like pre-tax.
What'cha wanna bet a large segment of this country's economy goes on a barter/black market basis right soon?
I have a large, barterable skillset with tools to enable it. Non-cash economy, here I come.
